Focus:

What should children and communities be learning and practicing as the current world feverishly composts into something unknown? This is the key question that orients our mission, currently under the framework of “Associação Terra Educa”, a Brazilian civil society non-profit organization rooted within the largest remaining continuum of Atlantic Rainforest in the country – in the Marumbi Watershed, Morretes/PR.

Bioregion Description:

Serra do Mar Bioregion – Unique continuum stretching across mountains, valleys, and coastal slopes. Global biodiversity hotspot that represents the 5% to 7% left of Atlantic Rainforest in Brazil. 

Morretes / PR – A territory shaped by strong culture, history and tourism. Has served as key place for pre and post colonial trading routes, both my sea and land. Key position across conversation zones.

Marumbi Watershed – The local basin where forested slopes gather water, feed springs, and sustain the Marumbi River. Home to 6 different rural neighborhoods. Near Pico do Marumbi State Park.
