Trees Foundation was founded in 1991 to empower and assist regional community-based conservation and restoration projects in the Redwood region. We produce a free triannual publication called Forest & River News to promote and support our partner organizations; join our mailing list at our website.

In addition, we provide fiscal sponsorship as well as GIS mapping, graphic design, and grant specialists to support the work of over 40 grassroots environmental groups. Our organization has provided support for Julia Butterfly Hill and the protection of ancient redwoods in Headwaters Forest and the InterTribal Sinkyone Wilderness among many others. We have also supported watershed restoration in over a dozen watersheds in an area of California with three designated Wild & Scenic rivers and some of the last remaining salmon and steelhead in the state.
