Canoa School Tree Donation

A friend of Planet Drum’s from San Vicente, Marcos Cevallos, contacted me about receiving a tree donation for the Colegio Elias Cedeño Jerves in Canoa.

I suggested he pick up 100 native fruit trees (Chirimoya, Guava de Machete, Pechiche, and Mandarina) that we had available at the new Planet Drum house.

The trees will be planted at the school by the students.

Marcos Cevallos and Cesar Zambrano load up trees from the Planet Drum house for a donation to a school in Canoa.

When Marcos arrived, he was accompanied by a co-worker, Cesar Zambrano, who is the head of social development for San Vicente. He immediately recognized the name Planet Drum and recalled planting trees with Peter Berg approximately 15 years ago in the Bellavista neighborhood when he was still a high school student at the Colegio Tecnico (San Vicente).

After they delivered the trees to the school, they helped me get in touch with the headmaster, who has invited me to give several environmental presentations at the school in the near future.
