New Greenhouse at Catholic University

Clearing a wide entrance to the new greenhouse location – on the other side of the soccer-field from the current location.

Planet Drum’s greenhouse operation enters a new era. Due to earthquake damages at the Catholic University, we are relocating the greenhouse to the other side of the soccer field. The new site is located in the middle of an old revegetation site which was planted by Planet Drum field manager Heather Crawford and volunteers in 2005.

The brush under a grove of Algarrobo trees and a new greenhouse operation is born.

We will use the natural shade of a grove of Algarrobo trees to protect seedbeds, and seedlings, as we germinate, grow and care for the next generation of trees that are produced.

Orlando builds bases for elevated seedbeds at the new greenhouse location.

The natural setting stays cool, even on the sunniest of days, and provides a tranquil environment for working with the plants. Additionally, the new location provides more space for expansion in the future. We are looking forward to making the most of the new greenhouse location. And of course, thanks to the Catholic University for supporting our project and providing us with the space to grow trees!
